First Shortlists from Eurobest 2012 Released

We’re now into the second day of the 25th edition of Eurobest, and our 94 jury members in Lisbon have just released 12 shortlists for the Film, Print, Outdoor, Radio, Direct, Promo & Activation, Media, Mobile, Interactive, Design, PR and Branded Content & Entertainment categories.

The shortlisted work is currently being exhibited and screened at the Cinema São Jorge in Lisbon, home to the 2012 Festival. The juries are now deliberating and debating over the shortlists to decide on those entries worthy of taking home a Eurobest trophy.

Meanwhile, the Young Creatives Integrated Competition has begun with 16 teams from across Europe competing to create an integrated campaign consisting of three different types of media. The campaigns will be judged by a dedicated jury who will decide on which team best deserves to take the winning title. The winning team will be announced alongside all of this year’s winners at the Awards Ceremony taking place on Friday 30 November in Lisbon.

While jury members were occupied with judging yesterday, delegates enjoyed the first day of Eurobest's exclusive programme of seminars and workshop, which saw Carlo Cavallone and Bryan Rowles of 72andSunny Amsterdam entertaining the audience with some of the most interesting work the agency has produced; Fabric Worldwide’s Chris Perry focusing on data visualisation; MOP in conversation with Chef João Wengorovius; and Martin Green, Head of Ceremonies for London 2012, taking delegates behind-the-scenes of one of the most imaginative opening ceremonies in the history of the Olympics. At the end of the day delegates enjoyed welcome drinks at the Festival venue allowing the chance to socialise and network with fellow industry members.

Another day of full content is on offer to attendees of the Festival today, with tickets still available for those wishing to attend. ACT Responsible will be holding a series of digital screenings throughout the day of the best charity ads from around the world and to celebrate Eurobest’s 25th anniversary, delegates can enjoy viewing a collection of winning Eurobest adverts from the last 25 years. Alongside this will be a further nine seminars as well as workshops given by Walter Werzowa, Owner & Composer, Musikvergnuegen and Saatchi & Saatchi’s Digital Creative Director Tom Eslinger.
