Industry Snapshot - Rene Fischer & David Harris

We’ve been talking to some of Europe’s creative though-leaders, asking them a series of quick-fire questions about their work and what they do with their time.

First up, we picked Rene Fischer and David Harris.

What was the last YouTube clip that made you laugh out loud?
DH: “Cassette Boy vs Dragons Den"

What do you say when someone asks you what you do at a party?
RF: “If someone ever asked me, I’d either answer with, ‘Are you from North Korea?’, or with ‘Join us, we’ll show you’.
DH: “I work in entertainment”

If you were a character from Mad Men who would you be?
RF: “Is it embarrassing to admit that I stopped watching Mad Men after six or seven episodes, and don’t remember much of it? I think the episodes are too long-winded, and I got bored with the show. Then again, I also don’t have an iPhone!”
DH: “Don Draper. Just think about that ‘Kodak Carousel’ moment!”

Was there an ad that made you want to get into the industry in the first place?
DH: “Albany Life’s ‘Are You Planning Your Wife’s Death?’”
RF: “I only ended up in advertising because someone offered me a job, and I needed one at that time!”

If you didn’t do what you do, what would you be doing right now?
DH: Inventor
RF: It’d either be documentary-style art projects. Or hitchhiking around the world. Or politics.
