Design made in Italy, from the classics to contemporary and beyond

The expression 'Italian design' generically refers to all forms of design made in Italy: from interior, fashion and architecture to graphic design and many more. Examples like the classic Lambretta, the Woolmark logo, the futuristic Brionvega TV set or the Borsalino hat are just a few of the numerous icons that have made Italian design such an unique presence in the twentieth century's collective consciousness.

Italy is often recognized as being a worldwide trendsetter in design, and while still exerting a vast influence on many design related fields, we often think of classic Italian design more than contemporary: Rai would like to celebrate Italian design with an ongoing revision of its branding, and celebrate not only the history, but also the contemporary aspects: what Italians consider 'Bello'.
