Jan Erik is an Estonian visual creator, film director, and screenwriter with more than two decades of experience and over 200 commercials behind him. He is one of the founders of Kuukulgur Film, a regionally acclaimed production house known for shaping some of the most memorable campaigns, short films, and TV projects to come out of Estonia.

Along the way, his work has reached audiences well beyond home, gaining international recognition. He recently won most of the craft and film awards at Kyiv’s International Advertising Festival with two different campaigns.

What defines his style is clarity of emotion, a sharp visual sense, and post-production that ties everything together with precision. Whether it’s a short story, a TV series, or a high-profile commercial, Jan Erik brings the same attention to rhythm, detail, and mood.

He is a proud father to his son, and together with him they train and teach Brazilian jiu-jitsu — a practice that mirrors the qualities found in his work: discipline, flow, and quiet confidence. He is currently preparing for an extended Muay Thai training camp on his home-away-from-home, Koh Phangan island in Thailand.
