Biography
Joakim Khoury has spent ten years at NoA Åkestam Holst, first as a senior creative and for the last five years as the Creative Director. He’s helped make Åkestam one of the best creative agencies in the Nordics, with a reputation that reaches well beyond the region. Throughout his career, he’s worked with brands including Google, Samsung, Legora, DeepL, Burger King, Ubisoft and the Swedish Armed Forces.
Joakim grew up between Lebanon and Sweden, spending much of his youth on a skateboard. He studied design in Sydney, where he also started working in design and communications, before moving to London for his first agency job. There, he helped design Uniqlo’s first UK e-commerce site. Next came Daddy in Gothenburg, working with Telia, Posten and SAS. When Daddy joined forces with Crispin Porter + Bogusky, he began working on international campaigns for Burger King and Ubisoft.
In 2012, he joined DDB Stockholm, creating award-winning work for the Swedish Armed Forces, Lufthansa and Bonniers Konsthall. Three years later, he moved to Amsterdam to join 72andSunny, working on global campaigns for Google and Samsung.
His work has been recognised at leading international awards, including Cannes Lions, D&AD, Eurobest and The One Show. In 2020, he was the most awarded creative at Sweden’s Golden Egg Awards. He’s also served on juries for Cannes Lions, Eurobest, Young Lions, Shots Awards, AICP Awards and the Golden Egg Awards.
