Biography

Shakira Akinjobi is an award-winning marketing leader and Director of Influencer Marketing at Burson, where she leads influencer strategy and execution across the UK and EMEA. With more than a decade of experience in influencer marketing, content partnerships, and earned-led creative, she has delivered culturally resonant, data-driven campaigns for global brands including BMW, Expedia Group, Vodafone, TJX Europe, Danone, and Wimbledon.

Previously holding senior roles at Wavemaker and Looping Group, Shakira is recognised for blending cultural insight with commercial impact, most notably through Channel 4’s acclaimed Together Against Hate campaign, which earned her recognition as one of Campaign’s ‘Faces to Watch’ in 2020. At Burson, she spearheads global influencer programmes across FMCG, Travel and Technology, including leading TJX's European influencer strategy and overseeing the integration of advanced influencer marketing platforms and AI-driven tools to optimise performance and measurement.

A vocal advocate for inclusive and culturally relevant marketing, Shakira has been spotlighted by the UK Black Comms Network as a trailblazer in her field. She pushes a 'culture up, brand down' approach to influencer marketing, driving engagement, visibility, and social impact through global talent partnerships and cross-market execution.
